Some great tips to get your yard looking amazing this Spring

Spring is coming ready or not. Lawn Care is high up on the “Honey Do” List going into Summer. Check out these tips to make that lawn work a piece of cake

Fertilize: Lawns wake up hungry in the spring. Feeding your lawn in the spring strengthens roots and gets it ready for growing season. A well-fed lawn means a better root system to combat heat, cold drought and mowing. There are many organic fertilizers on the market, if you are like me and hate chemicals!

Keep it quiet: To avoid disturbing your neighbors and to protect your hearing, consider using the new Craftsman Quiet Front Wheel Drive Lawn Mower. Equipped with the Briggs & Stratton Quiet Power Technology™ engine, this new lawn mower is 65 percent quieter than a similar Toro lawn mower model (20371) and is also available in an all wheel drive model. The lawn mower is so quiet that you talk to your neighbors and hear you kids while the motor is still running.

Work smarter – not harder: To avoid damaging trees, fences and other obstacles in larger yards, investing in a riding mower with exceptional maneuverability is a must. Check out these two new products from the Craftsman brand that provide precise cutting along with speed and comfort:

  • Craftsman Fast Riding Mowers offer Turn Tight™ technology not only allow for a 6-inch turning radius even in rough terrain, but they do can do so at speeds of up to 7.5 mph!
  • The Craftsman Pro Series line offers Turn Tight™ technology as well as “Pro-style” features such as reinforced decks with electric lifts, fast transmissions and easy blade change at an affordable price.

Remove debris: Leftover sticks and leaves from the fall and winter months don’t only look unpleasant, but they deprive the grass of oxygen and sunlight.

Don’t mow too low:  It’s imperative to fix your mower at an elevated setting so that the grass can grow to about 2 ½ to 3 inches long. This technique results in fewer summertime weeds and healthier, greener looking grass.

Let it breathe: Aerating – or poking small holes in your lawn –is a great way to improve oxygen circulation and nutrient penetration. Consider ventilating your lawn with spiked shoes or aerating tools.

Make it Pretty: Last but not least a pretty yard is a happy yard. Decorate with local seasonal flowers, Potted plants, outdoor decor and more.
